Brand Name Depot store opens on Main Street

Shoppers in Dartmouth can now experience that thrill of a bargain-hunting weekend in Bangor without leaving home, says the owner of a new Dartmouth fashion and gift retail outlet.

Brand Name Depot located at 613 Main St. has shoes, ladies and children's clothing, bedding and small kitchen appliances that you wouldn't normally see on this side of the border, said Kim Gallant.

"I think it is time that people in Dartmouth had a shop in their own city that offers unique clothing at bargain prices," she said. "And to keep the prices reasonable I wouldn't bring in anything that I couldn't offer at 40 to 70 per cent off."

Gallant has been involved in retail for many years and said she knows that people are tired of having to shop at big box stores. And those pricey boutiques are not always the answer either, she said.

The store has name brands such as Anne Klein, Ralph Lauren, Carter's, Jones of New York, Liz Claiborne, Naturalizer and Nine West.

Gallant said she has had several compliments from seniors who don't like to make that trek into Dartmouth Crossing, they find it too confusing there, she said.

"And younger people like the fact that you can walk here from nearby Forest Hills and Colby Village," said Gallant.
