Thumbs Up to the Auburn Drive High school girls basketball team this week as they defeated Halifax West by a score of 59-51. Chika Chiekwe had 18 points and Jillian McCracken added 14 points in the win.

Thumbs Up to police for busting an alleged marijuana grow operation in Highfield Park last weekend. Two men and one woman will appear in court at a later date to face charges of trafficking, possession for the purpose of trafficking and weapons offences.

Thumbs Down to the thieves that swarmed a man last week as he was walking near Ellenvale Junior High at lunchtime and stole his IPod.

Thumbs Up to The Dartmouth Subways for their win over the Pictou County Weeks 5 to 3 in Nova Scotia Major Midget Hockey League play in New Glasgow. Colin Gates had two goals and Ben Duffy, Ryan Morris and Andrew Bonazza had Dartmouth's other goals.

THUMBS DOWN to the people responsible for mistakenly releasing three suspects from custody in the past month. Two of the suspects were accused of assault. Another faced a rape charge. Mistakes like these can prove dangerous.
