Police Briefs - At 5:14 p.m.on Aug. 9, a 28-year-old woman was allegedly abducted and assaulted by her 30-year-old boyfriend. The suspect took the victim to a wooded area near Wright's Cove, Dartmouth, and threatened her while armed with weapons. He allegedly assaulted her several times by punching, slapping and kicking her. The victim managed to escaped and call police. She did not require hospitalization for her injuries. The suspect was arrested and faces charges of attempted murder, abduction, assault, resisting arrest, property damage, unlawful confinement and various weapons offences. The accused is in custody and was arraigned on Monday.
