At approximately 7:15 p.m. on Aug. 11, a male victim was picked up at gun point in Dartmouth by an attacker. They proceeded to drive around Dartmouth. The attacker accused the victim of having an affair with his girlfriend. The attacker became enraged and allegedly threatened and assaulted the victim with a handgun. The attacker would not let the victim out of the vehicle. The victim seized an opportunity to get out of the vehicle and ran to a home on Spikenard Street, where police were called. The victim received minor injuries. A 29-year-old man was arrested at his home later in the evening, but the weapon was never recovered. The suspect appeared in court on Monday to face charges of kidnapping, assault and assault with a weapon.
