Animal voice - If you are ready to open your home and heart to an adult dog, East Coast German Shepherd Rescue has two wonderful dogs eagerly awaiting placement.
Asha is a lovely black two-year-old, mostly-Shepherd-mix female. She was sent from Newfoundland by a small rescue group who got her from an overfilled shelter, where she had been brought in as a stray.
She is a bit timid and startles easily and is especially fearful of loud noises. At some point in her life, she was taught commands, as she knows sit, stay, lay down and give-a-paw. At 65 pounds, she is a bit underweight and could use 10 more pounds on her frame.
Oswald is a five-year-old neutered male Shepherd, about 75 pounds and in good health. He has only lived with one family who sadly can't devote the time that he needs.
An indoor dog, he loves to play outside and needs lots of exercise and attention. He is good with cats and dogs once he knows them, and is a good watch dog. He'd make a great companion for an active family.
East Coast German Shepherd Rescue is also in urgent need of foster parents to help with their rescue dogs. Foster parenting can be an extremely rewarding experience if you're not able to take on the long-term commitment of owning a dog, but still want to be involved in helping them.
