While I think it is a great addition to our downtown, and in particular the design of this former Masonic Hall, Dartmouth already has its own town clock (Time for Change, Weekly News, Oct. 9).

To the editor:
While I think it is a great addition to our downtown, and in particular the design of this former Masonic Hall, Dartmouth already has its own town clock (Time for Change, Weekly News, Oct. 9). We have a wonderful plaza near the old city hall where our town clock takes its rightful place at the harbor entrance to our fine city.
This town clock sits at the base of Portland Street and Alderney Drive across from a significant historic site, the Sterns Building and next to our public library that is full of examples of our history and life as Dartmouthians saw it.
Additional clocks representing our history are a great addition, but it is misleading to presume they have a higher significance than existing features placed there by homegrown Dartmouthians who travelled this way many years ago.
