What about HRM councillor expenses?

To the editor:
As some of the MLAs are former HRM councillors, I have to ask, has an audit ever been done on municipal councillors' expenses? How are their "discretionary" and other expense funds controlled within the HRM?
I hope soon that there is also a municipal audit of the HRM and staff expenses. I hope that soon there will be audited reports available for all HRM municipal spending.
Will the new HRM Auditor General, Larry Munroe be including such audit plans in his first report? The HRM website says that there will be an initial report from the HRM Auditor General within six months of his appointment.
I think most people in the HRM jurisdiction will be very interested in the HRM Auditor General's comments about appropriate public spending.
