Our MLAs are obviously living too high on the hog! Now they very well may need some of the items they purchased for doing their jobs, but where do these people shop? All of these things can be purchased for much, much less then they paid.

To the editor:
Our MLAs are obviously living too high on the hog! Now they very well may need some of the items they purchased for doing their jobs, but where do these people shop? All of these things can be purchased for much, much less then they paid.
Is it because they are spending our money that it does not matter the cost? Perhaps their expense allowances should be cut in half or less, and then they would be forced to do some comparison shopping.
Are the people they are buying from overcharging because it is taxpayer dollars being spent? And we all know that when the government goes shopping, the price of things suddenly goes up.
While I agree with the need for some of these things, is an expresso machine a necessity? Or a big screen TV? If you need or want these things buy them yourself. And what about submitting expenses for meals when they already receive $84 per day for them! Up to $84 a day for meals. Many people in this province do not have $84 a week to spend on food. Shame on you!
Some of the things they are allowed to charge us for are ridiculous and need to be seriously looked at. They are very well paid for what they do, and it is time some of the things they expense the taxpayer for be eliminated.
It is easy to spend someone else's money, especially when there is no accountability. Saying you are sorry, or you did not know and will pay the money back just does not cut it in my book. You are simply admitting you knew what you were doing was wrong and sorry you got caught. You should all be very ashamed of yourselves!
Something is very, very wrong here and needs fixing now. They should be accountable for every cent of taxpayer dollars they spend, no exceptions. I am appalled and very disappointed. I will not vote again in my lifetime. Seems we just can't trust any of you.
