To the editor:
The Weekly News, Feb. 26 headline Steele's public budget meeting met with fresh ideas caught my attention. I was eager to learn about fresh ideas.
But, surprise, surprise: two-thirds of the audience wanted higher taxes! And that's a "fresh" idea? How fresh? According to TENS-Taxed Enough Nova Scotians (http://www.taxedenoughns.com/), it's not very fresh. In fact, it's a stinking idea that is at least 629 years old, ever since John Ball led the peasant's tax revolt.
Maybe the new provincial Atlantica Party (http://www.atlanticaparty.ca/) has a fresher idea.
