A partnership between the Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation and the Nova Scotia Salmon Association was announced in Lower Sackville earlier this week.
Proceeds from the NSLC's annual ECO SALE will fund the corporation's five-year, $500,000 commitment to the newly named NSLC Adopt-A-Stream program.
The first $100,000 installment was handed to the salmon association on March 29.
"Through the power of our retail promotions the NSLC can improve environmental awareness, raise significant money for a cause, and enable our customers to support an improved environment," said NSLC president and CEO Bret Mitchell.
The partnership was welcome news for the Sackville Rivers Association.
"As an affiliate of the Nova Scotia Salmon Association, we're excited by this new source of funding and the ability it gives us to help salmon on the river," said Sackville Rivers Association president Walter Regan. - Staff
