Now that we have talked about collecting coupons and waiting for the right sale, organizing your coupons to make things easier, we should talk about building up a stockpile that can really help you reduce your monthly spending.
I am a firm believer in building up a reasonable stockpile. Take this week at No Frills for example. Kellogg’s cereals are on sale for $2.00. If your family are cereal eaters, this is the week to build up a reasonable stockpile. If you use the Superstore buy 3 get $3.00 off coupon then these cereals are now only $1.00 a box!! Normally these cereals run almost $5.00 a box, what a savings for your family! You will get 5 boxes for the same price you would have spent to buy only 1.
This is the week to buy let’s say 10 boxes which takes the cereal out of your spending for probably a few months. Normally you would spent about $50.00 for 10 boxes and this week only $10.00. Less if you ordered the Kellogg’s cereal from websaver a few weeks ago!
Another great buy to stockpile some in your freezer are the Egg Creation’s, again at No Frill’s 2/3.00, after coupons they will cost you .50 each. These are freezable and are fantastic for scrambled eggs or French toast. I plan on buying 10 of these and put 9 in the freezer. I have done this in the past and they really are great! The Egg Creation coupons were in the store ( Sobey’s ) about 6-8 weeks ago and I picked up some to wait for the best sale!
Black Diamond Block cheese is on sale at Wal-Mart this coming week for 4.44 and after the .75 coupon are 3.69. Here is where I will buy 4 blocks and keep them in the container in the fridge. We are huge cheese eaters in our family and this is a real savings for us. They normally cost almost $8 – 9.00 each…over 5.00 each in saving’s for our family on items we normally use weekly. I am going to take the Wal-Mart flyer with me tomorrow to No Frills and price match saving me an extra trip to Wal-Mart.
The Zantac are 2.22 for a box of 3 and after the 3.00 coupon you actually make .45 cents each to use towards your other purchases! This is called a “money maker”. The overage can be used to reduce the cost of your other purchases. I did this at Wal-Mart this morning!
Summer is here ( sort of lol). Superstore has the Chapman’s popsicles/fudsicles on for .99 a box, FREE if you have the Chapman’s coupon. What better time to stock up for the kid’s for the summer!
Resolve is on again this week for $2.00 at Wal-Mart and after the coupon is FREE. This is a must to stock up on, who doesn’t want FREE laundry stain removers! They won’t go bad and will save you a lot of money if you can get a small stockpile of perhaps 6 or so to use. Again, this takes it out of your monthly spending which leaves you free to buy something else, or just save that money.
Most of us have the room for a small stockpile in our homes or can be creative and find a spot, especially for those items that our families use if we can get them really cheap or free.
Keep your eyes open in the stores for those tear pad coupons, save the coupon inserts from the flyer’s and newspaper’s, order your coupons from websaver.ca, save.ca, gocoupons.ca and all the sites I mentioned earlier and wait for that great sale!
TIPS
1. Take your Superstore coupon on the Cereal to either No Frills to use on their cereal sale this week or price match the No Frills cereal at Wal-Mart and use the Superstore coupon there. I did that this morning and got 9 boxes of cereal for 1.00 a box & 4 boxes of the Kellogg's Mini Wheats Fruit Centres for .50 a box after my 1.50 off coupons.
2. Sobey’s now takes Superstore coupons from their coupon board!!
3. I purchased 10 of the Zantac and used the overage of 4.50 to get my Block of Black diamond Cheese FREE and the rest of the overage towards my other purchases.
