Do you ever think about the “Mail In Rebates” that are out there from Manufactures? Why do they have us mail in our receipts with the forms and have us wait for our refund to come instead of just the quick instant Rebate right at the store with the cashier?
Just my humble opinion, but not EVERYONE who buys their product that has a Rebate will actually take the time to mail in that form with the receipt to get the their money back! I read somewhere not long ago that approx. only 20% will actually submit for any rebate back! If they gave that rebate in the form of an instant rebate at the store it would be 100% so quite a savings for the Company involved. Plus they still receive all the hype around the Promotion as well.
I make a point of having stamps and envelopes at home ready to go, as soon as I get home I take 5 min and take the receipt, fill everything out, take my receipt etc and get it all done and in the envelope. I have always received my money back but you need to ENSURE that you read the rebate form thoroughly and follow it to the letter…ensure you do everything they are asking for and always initially assume they will want your receipt.
In my opinion if I can get my money back from items that our family is using anyway it is a true win win or us and I don’t mind waiting for my money to come back, I was going to buy this product anyway!

Before I get into the deals that have coupons attached/available, I want to mention (again), one of my and my husband’s favorite stores and best kept secret lol…GATEWAY MEATS in Cole Harbour (Forrest Hills and Main). It really isn’t a best kept secret; it is a great store that has a LOT of very loyal customers. Not only do they have GREAT prices, but their service is one of the best in town. This week they have 10 lbs of new potatoes on for .47 cents!!! Yes, .47 cents!! There is a limit of 5 bags per person which is very reasonable and allows us all to take advantage of this great price. We find their meat prices exceptional as well, Prime Rib $4.99 per lb this week. And it’s all Local NS meat!!!! They have an online flyer that you can view or subscribe to . I find this important as they don’t have a paper flyer/insert.
