Valentine’s Day is just around the corner….deals deals and more deals are everywhere, at every store and what is the best deal? I love Valentine’s Day, a day to celebrate the love of my life, my husband of 38 years Bernie! What we have been doing for many years is a quiet evening at home with a nice special meal. Bernie is the chef (not cook but chef lol) in our family and the meal he makes is always special and based on what we both enjoy.
I guess what I am saying is you don’t have to go out and spend a lot of money on this special day, you know what your partner likes and dislikes….do something special for them based on their likes. A friend a number of years ago went home from work and found that her husband had totally cleaned the house for her, all the laundry done, bathroom fixtures done and had a wonderful meal on the table for her with a card! Wow…I remember her telling me about it even to this day and it brought tears to my eyes…they didn’t have a lot of money and he wanted to do something for HER. This way the weekend was also free for them, no chores to be done, just relaxing and watching their favorite movies….to me that is an awesome gift! (HINT HINT GUYS lol)
I am NOT saying to forget about the flowers, chocolates or jewelry ( if you can afford them lol )…there are also special things we can do for the men in our lives ladies!
There are flowers and chocolates on sale everywhere in just about every store this week…all the grocery stores even have roses on sale for under $25.00 a dozen and lots of variety for chocolates. I noticed some good prices at Wal-Mart to name just one store.
Hope everyone has a great Valentine’s Day with their partner (don’t forget to call your mom & dad and wish them a Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!)
