Search Results in Drug Charges

Three people face charges after a drug search yesterday afternoon in Halifax.

At 5:35 p.m. the HRP/RCMP Integrated Drug Unit, assisted by the Central Quick Response Unit, conducted a search of a residence in the 3500 block of Windsor Street in Halifax. The search resulted in a quantity of marijuana and other drug paraphernalia being seized. Three men were arrested at the scene without incident.

Three Halifax men, ages 23, 26 and 27, face drug trafficking charges and are scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court at a later date.

 

 

Citizens credited for overnight arrest

 

Halifax Regional Police would like to thank the citizens who helped officers locate a man who was breaking into vehicles in Halifax early this morning.

At 2:32 a.m. police responded to the Seaforth Street area after receiving a complaint about a man breaking into vehicles. Several witnesses provided a description of the man as well as his direction of travel. While officers were on scene, another complaint was received at 2:54 a.m. about a vehicle being broken into on Gladstone Street.

Thanks to the quick action of the people who called in officers located and arrested a 40-year-old man on Almon Street. He is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court at a later date to face charges of property damage, attempt break and enter and possession of break-in instruments.

Thefts from vehicles are generally a crime of opportunity, with items in plain sight being a temptation for would be thieves. It is recommended that items not be left in your vehicle. If it is absolutely necessary to leave items in your vehicle, they should be locked in the trunk out of sight before arriving at your destination.
