RCMP looking to ID property stolen from Cole Harbour vehicles

RCMP are looking to return items that are believed to have been stolen from vehicle break-in's that occurred in the Cole Harbour area.

On Jan. 25 at 2:52 a.m., RCMP in Cole Harbour responded to a suspicious vehicle complaint in the Bundy Lane area of Cherrybrook. A witness reported a suspicious vehicle driving erratically in a gravel lot. RCMP arrived moments later and found a 2009 Honda Civic fully engulfed in flames. Officers located and arrested two male youths males fleeing the area on foot. Further investigation determined the car had been stolen from a residence in Dartmouth.

The youths were found in possession of stolen property from vehicles in the Arklow Drive and John Stewart Drive area of Cole Harbour. While some property has been returned to the rightful owners, RCMP are still searching for the owners of the remaining property, which includes a number of outdoor sporting items. RCMP are asking the public to notify police of any recent thefts that may not have previously been reported so that all recovered items can be returned.

A 14-year-old male and a 17-year-old male are facing numerous charges including Theft of Motor Vehicle, Arson, Theft, Possession of Stolen Property, Possession of Break and Enter Tools, Possession of a Weapon, Mischief and Trespass by Night. The youths are scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court at a later date.
