Transit workers were up early this morning picketing at several locations including the bus depot in Ragged Lake and the Dartmouth bus shelter.

Schedules of picketing times and locations were done in advance and many workers are preparing for a drawn out strike.

Ken Wilson, president of Amalgamated Transit Union Local 508, said this morning there are no talks scheduled, but he’s willing to return to the table. He said he’s waiting on a call from Metro Transit.

Calls to HRM and Mayor Peter Kelly were not immediately returned.
