IWK cancels surgeries due to power outage

The IWK Health Centre is experiencing an external power loss and is currently operating on generator power only. As a result, the IWK will be providing urgent and emergent services only for the rest of today, Wednesday, July 4.

All elective surgeries and non-urgent appointments have been cancelled and will be rescheduled. Patients and families requiring further information about their elective surgeries or non-urgent appointments should call the number provided to them on their appointment letter.

There is limited use of elevators throughout the Health Centre, so visitors are advised to delay visiting, if possible, until power is restored.
