Latest murder victim identified

The victim of an assault on Argyle Street this morning (Aug. 11) has died and investigators are treating it as a homicide. 

At 3:49 a.m., police responded to a disturbance in the area of Argyle and Sackville Streets. Responding officers located a 26-year-old man lying on the ground. He was transported to hospital where he passed away a short time later. An autopsy is scheduled for later today; however, the man’s death is being treated as a homicide.  

The victim has been identified as 26-year-old Kaylin Todd Diggs of Halifax.

The investigation has determined that Diggs was walking on Argyle Street heading south when an altercation took place. It was at that point he was assaulted and knocked to the ground. The investigation is in its early stages and officers assigned to the HRP/RCMP Integrated Major Crime Unit are looking to speak with anyone who witnessed the incident.
