Labour Day solid waste collection notice

Residents of HRM are advised there will be no regular municipal curbside solid waste collection services provided on Labour Day, Monday, Sept. 3. For those residents who receive garbage, green cart and recycling collection on Mondays, your alternate collection day will be the preceding, Saturday, Sept. 1.

Collection services can begin as early as 7 a.m. To ensure collection, residents may place materials curbside the evening prior to collection day.

The Otter Lake Waste Processing and Disposal Facilities, the two Composting Facilities and the HRM Recycling Plant will be closed on Labour Day, Monday, Sept. 3, but will be open on Saturday, Sept. 1, with regular operating hours.

HRM’s residential Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Depot will be closed Saturday, Sept. 1, but will be open the following Saturday, Sept. 8 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
