Halifax Regional Police are once again launching their ‘Operation Fall-Back’ campaign in an effort to reduce noise complaints, property damage and public intoxication in the residential areas surrounding our universities.

The campaign, created several years ago in response to concerns raised by citizens, goes into effect the evening of Sept. 1 and runs throughout the month of September.

Police continue to work closely with community groups, university officials and student representatives to help prevent a repeat of problems from previous years. They will have increased high-visibility patrols and directed enforcement in known complaint areas.

The partnership will evolve into a dedicated patrol program in October when ‘Operation Fall-Back’ has concluded.

Halifax Regional Police provide the cruiser and Dalhousie University pays the staffing costs for two officers who patrol designated neighbourhoods around Dal and King’s campuses at peak times on selected dates throughout the year.
