RCMPhave laid weapons charges against a 12-year-old boy following an incident in Cole Harbour.   At 4:33 p.m. on Sept. 19, police were called to a residence on Circassion Drive in Cole Harbour to investigate an assault. When police arrived, they found one youth sitting in a passenger car.  Police were advised that a second youth was inside a residence. A window of the residence opened and police observed a youth holding what they believed to be a handgun. The youth started firing at the passenger vehicle, striking it several times and breaking the windshield. Police officers took proper safety precautions and waited for additional resources. A short time later, the youth exited the residence and was arrested without further incident. Police seized replica firearms. The matter is still under investigation.   A 12-year-old male faces weapons charges under the Criminal Code. He will be appearing in court at a later date.   Police would like to remind the public that replica weapons can be dangerous and can be easily mistaken for real weapons. Police treat all handguns as real until proven otherwise. In this case, no one was seriously injured.
