Teen sustains life-threatening injuries after being struck in Dartmouth crosswalk

At approximately 9 p.m. on Sept. 25, a 19-year-old male was crossing Pleasant Street at the intersection of Carleton Street in Dartmouth. The male was in the crosswalk when a vehicle travelling southbound on Pleasant Street struck him as he was crossing. The vehicle stopped immediately after the accident. The lone occupant of the vehicle, a 56-year-old male, was not injured in the accident. EHS was on scene quickly and the pedestrian was taken to the QE2 hospital with injuries that are considered to be life threatening. At this time no charges have been laid and the matter is still under investigation.
