Timberlea woman charged with drunk driving after hitting cyclist

On Sept. 27 at approximately 12:30 a.m. members of the Halifax Regional Police responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a car and a bicyclist that occurred at the intersection of Spring Garden Road and Queen Street. in Halifax.

The 24-year-old bicyclist involved was taken to the QEII for treatment for non-life threatening injuries. It was determined during the course of the investigation that the driver of the car, a 22 year old female from the Timberlea area,  was operating the vehicle while impaired.

This individual will now face Impaired Driving and Failing the Breathalyzer charges and will appear in Halifax Provincial Court on Oct. 31.
