Two male youths face weapons charges after an incident in the early morning of Oct. 5 in Halifax.

At 1:08 a.m., police responded to the area of the Halifax Shopping Centre following a report of several people walking in the area, one of them carrying a weapon.

Police located two suspects matching the description on Withrod Drive. One suspect took off on foot after seeing police but was later arrested following a short foot pursuit. A second suspect was also arrested at the scene. A concealed pellet gun and a modified knife were located on him.

A 17-year-old Halifax male faces charges of carrying a concealed weapon and two counts of weapon possession.

Another 17-year-old male, also from Halifax, faces one charge of breaching a court order. Both were held in police custody overnight and are scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Youth Court later today.
