Police are seeking the public’s help in locating a missing U.S. citizen.
Sarah Tessier Powell, 72, was last seen on Sept. 30 on-board the Holland America cruise ship Veendam. The ship's next scheduled stops were Charlottetown on Oct. 2; Sydney on Oct. 3 and Halifax on Oct. 4.
There is no evidence to suggest that Powell has met with foul play; however, it is believed she may have walked off the ship without being checked by security. It is not clear where she may have disembarked.
Powell is a white woman, five-foot-six with a thin build and brown shoulder length hair. She speaks with a strong southern accent.
There is concern for Powell’s well-being because she requires medication and may become agitated without it.
Officers request that Powell or anyone with information on her whereabouts contacts Halifax Regional Police at 490-5016.
