Timberlea man facing firearm, drug charges

Police have charged a 20-year-old Timberlea man with firearm and drug charges.  

Yesterday, Oct. 25, at approximately 10 a.m., Tantallon RCMP officers executed a search warrant at a residence on St. Margaret's Bay Road in Timberlea.

Police seized a knife (prohibited weapon), handgun, shotgun and ammunition. Officers also seized a quantity of drugs, cash and other drug paraphernalia.

The 20-year-old male from Timberlea is currently in police custody and faces the following criminal code charges: Unsafe Storage of a Firearm, Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public, Unauthorized Possession of a Restricted Firearm, Possession of Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized, Possession of a Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition Readily Available, Possession of a Weapon Obtained by Crime.  

He is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court later today.
