Halifax District RCMP are investigating a single motor vehicle crash that happened on Sackville Drive in Lower Sackville.

This morning, shortly after 5 a.m., police responded to a motor vehicle crash on Sackville Drive near Wilson Lake Road. When police arrived, they found a Red Pontiac Wave had left the road, rolled over and struck a power pole. The investigation revealed that the car had been stolen.

The occupants fled the scene. A police service dog search to locate the suspects was unsuccessful.   Earlier in the morning, police observed the same vehicle involved in the crash running a stop sign. The vehicle took off from police and attempts to locate it were unsuccessful. The matter is still under investigation.

RCMP are asking anyone with information about this crash or any other incident to come forward. People can contact any RCMP office or Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), texting TIP202 + your message to 'CRIMES' (274637) or by Secure Web Tips at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca. Calls to Crime Stoppers are not taped or traced and if police make an arrest and lay charges based on a tip, callers qualify for a cash reward from $50 - $2,000.
