RCMP are asking for the public's assistance after a robbery in Fall River.

Last evening, Jan. 2, at 10 p.m.,  RCMP responded to a robbery that occurred at a local restaurant on Highway 2.   A male suspect entered the Subway armed with a knife and demanded cash.  The suspect grabbed a quantity of cash and left the store.  He also attempted to rob an elderly man at the nearby banking machine.  The man at the ATM refused and did not give him any money. The suspect fled and is believed to have left in a vehicle.  No one was injured

The suspect is described as a white male, six-foot-two in his late teens or early 20's with a slim build and was last seen wearing dark clothing.

Police are asking anyone with information about this incident or any other unsolved crime to come forward. People can contact any RCMP office or Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), texting TIP202 + your message to "CRIMES" (274637) or by Secure Web Tips at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca. Calls to Crime Stoppers are not taped or traced and if police make an arrest and lay charges based on a tip, callers qualify for a cash reward from $50 - $2,000.
