Three youths are facing multiples charges after an incident earlier today, Jan. 7, in Halifax.

At 3:45 a.m., officers responded to the McDonald’s restaurant at 6324 Quinpool Rd. after someone overheard three youths talking about having a firearm with them. Several officers arrived on scene and arrested them without incident. Officers recovered a plastic gun along with several stolen items and tools from the youths. These items led officers to Bloomingdale Terrace where they discovered a vehicle that had been broken into and numerous items stolen.

Two 17-year-old youths and a 16-year-old youth, all from Halifax, were held overnight and will appear in Halifax Provincial Youth Court later today. They are facing charges of theft, possession of stolen goods, possession of break-in tools and numerous breaches of court orders. Two of the youths were also found in breach of court imposed curfew.
