Highway 104 has be reopened to traffic after an early morning collision.  A tanker truck is still off the highway and the owners are planning to remove it tomorrow.  There may be a possible road closure in that area at that time.

Early this morning, at 1:30 a.m., Antigonish RCMP responded to a collision between two transport trucks. One driver was treated and released from St. Martha’s Regional Hospital with minor injuries. The second driver was not injured. A tanker filled with a flammable substance was involved in the collision. Fire officials and a Hazmat team responded but the investigation confirmed there are no leaks.

Roads were snow covered and slippery at the time and conditions are considered a contributing factor to the collision. The collision remains under investigation and no charges have been laid at this time.
