Teens arrested, stolen cellphone recovered

Halifax Regional Police is investigating a robbery that occurred this morning, Jan. 11, in Dartmouth.

At 8:30 a.m., police responded to a report of a robbery in the area of Woodlawn Road and Spikenard Street. A 16-year-old youth reported that he was robbed of his cellphone by two male youths that pulled a knife on him. The suspects fled on foot towards Main Street.

Shortly after, two male youths, matching the description provided by the victim, were arrested by patrol officers on Caledonia Road.  The stolen property was recovered on them, along with a knife.  A third youth was also arrested at the scene for assaulting a police officer and obstruction.

They remain in custody while the investigation is continuing. Charges are anticipated against all three youths.
