Six people face drug trafficking charges after police conduct unrelated searches at three residences in HRM.
On Jan. 16 at 8 p.m., officers executed a search warrant at a residence in the 100 block of Lavender Walk in Halifax. Officers seized a quantity of marijuana, cash and drug paraphernalia. A 30-year-old Halifax man and a 22-year-old Halifax woman face charges of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking and will appear in Halifax Provincial Court at a later date.
Yesterday, Jan. 18, at 4 p.m., police a search warrant at an apartment in the 300 block of Herring Cove Road in Halifax. Officers seized a quantity of marijuana, cash and drug paraphernalia. A 59-year-old Halifax man faces a charge of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking and will appear in Halifax Provincial Court at a later date.
And, at 9 p.m. yesterday, police conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of Roleika Drive in Dartmouth. The male driver and two male passengers were arrested at the scene without incident. A search of the vehicle yielded two canisters of sensory irritant. A subsequent search of a residence in the same block resulted in officers seizing marijuana plants and grow up equipment. Twenty-three-year-old Steven Thomas Hoskin of Dartmouth faces two counts of possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace, two counts of possession of a prohibited weapon and one count each of carrying a concealed weapon, cultivation of cannabis and breach of a court order. He was held in custody overnight and will appear in Dartmouth Provincial court today.
