Halifax police are investigating two robbery attempts late Sunday where knives were the weapons of choice.

At 5:30 p.m., Halifax Regional Police say a man called to say he was at his home on Pinecrest Drive in Dartmouth when two men threatened him with a knife and took cash, a cell phone and his medication.

Both men fled on foot and police have made no arrests.

They also say it doesn’t appear to be a random act.

Also Sunday night, police responded to an attempted robbery attempt at the Subway restaurant on Fenwick Street in Halifax.

A masked man, according to police, entered the store, pulled out a knife and demanded cash. The clerk pushed the security alarm and the man fled the store empty handed. — Metro Halifax
