Halifax Regional Police is requesting the public’s assistance in locating the rightful owner of an angel statue found last night in Bedford.
At 8:20 p.m. on Jan. 21, officers were called to a building on Nelson Landing Boulevard after a resident reported finding an angel statue outside that location. It was determined that the statue was left outside the building between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. but officers could not identify the persons responsible for leaving it there.
The statue is approximately 40 inches tall and weighs in excess of 200 lbs. It has a metal rod sticking from the bottom and was likely displayed outside a place of worship or a cemetery. Given its size, at least two people would have been required to carry it, and as the statue does not appear to have come from the immediate area, a vehicle was probably used to transport it.
The owner or anyone with information regarding the rightful owner of this statue is asked to contact police at 490-5016. Anonymous tips can be sent to Crime Stoppers by calling toll-free 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), submitting a secure web tip at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca or texting a tip - Tip 202 + your message to 274637
