RCMP have charged two males after a robbery in Hammonds Plains.

Last night (Jan. 26), at 11:37 p.m., RCMP responded to a robbery at the Tim Hortons on Hammond Plains Road. Two male suspects wearing masks entered the store and demanded cash. A short time later they fled the store with a quantity of cash and donuts. Police believe the suspects left in a vehicle. The employees were not injured and no weapon was seen.

Early this morning, Halifax Regional Police arrested two males after they were attempting to steal cars in Bedford. Police officers recovered the cash from the robbery. A 27-year-old Lower Sackville man and a 17-year-old youth from Herring Cove are facing several charges in relation to the robbery and attempted theft of a vehicle. Both have been remanded into custody and will be appearing in court tomorrow morning. The Integrated HRP/RCMP General Investigation Section (GIS) is assisting and additional charges are pending.
