Shoplifter threatens store security with HIV-infected needle

Halifax Regional Police is investigating a robbery that occurred yesterday in Dartmouth.

At 2:46 p.m., officers responded to a robbery in progress at No Frills located at 118 Wyse Rd. A woman left the store without paying for several food items and when confronted by the security officer, she threatened to stab her with a HIV contaminated needle, although none was seen. No one was injured and the suspect fled on foot with the merchandise. The merchandise was later recovered at the Metro Transit bridge terminal. The suspect is described as a white woman, approximately 30-years-old, wearing a dark jacket.
