14-year-old suspect sought in Spryfield stabbing

Police are investigating a stabbing that occurred this afternoon, Feb. 5, in Halifax.

At 12:04 p.m., police responded to a report of an injured person inside an apartment building in the 500 block of Herring Cove Road. Officers located an injured woman in a hallway of the building. The 44-years-old female victim, who had been stabbed, was taken to the QE2 Health Sciences Centre by EHS with what were described as non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators are looking for a white male youth, approximately 14-years-old. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black hoodie, blue and white sneakers and had his face covered with a white balaclava.

Investigators with the HRP/RCMP Integrated General Investigation Section are in the early stages of the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Halifax Regional Police at 490-5020.
