Forecasters are expecting this weekend’s snow storm to hit Nova Scotia late Friday night, with the bulk of the snow falling on Saturday.
Environment Canada meteorologist Paula Sutherland said on Thursday HRM will see between 25 and 35 centimetres of snow, which is the high range for the province.
She said the system has moved a little further south than models predicted on Wednesday, and should track along the United States coast and combine with a system over the Great Lakes before hitting western parts of the province.
The storm is expected to then spread to the east of Nova Scotia throughout Saturday before moving on to Newfoundland.
On Wednesday, there was talk parts of the province could be hit by as much as 40 centimetres of snow.
Sutherland said strong, north-east winds are also expected Saturday, which will cause blowing snow.
She advises the public to monitor future weather forecasts and look for any warnings they issue. — Metro Halifax
