Vehicle stop results in weapons charges

At midnight police pulled over a Honda Accord on Massachusetts Avenue. Discovered in the vehicle as a result of the stop were a handgun, ammunition and a quantity of marijuana. The vehicle’s two occupants were arrested without incident. The 23-year-old male driver will appear in court today, Feb. 7, facing numerous weapons related charges as well as possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking. A 22-year-old female passenger has been released, and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date facing similar charges.
