Police have arrested a third suspect in relation to a shooting that occurred on a city bus in Dartmouth.

Earlier today, Feb. 12, a 17-year-old female youth from Dartmouth turned herself in at police headquarters. She was held in custody and will appear in Halifax Provincial Youth Court later today. She faces charges of assault and causing a disturbance

At 12:58 p.m. on Feb. 7, police responded to a report of shots fired on a Metro Transit bus travelling westbound on Pinecrest Drive. Officers learned that three passengers were in a verbal dispute which turned into a physical fight. The bus pulled over in the 100 block of Pinecrest Drive and one of the involved parties discharged a firearm inside the bus. No one was injured and the three suspects fled the area on foot in opposite directions.

Investigators arrested a 16-year-old male youth later that day; he faces charges of attempted murder and numerous weapons related offences. Eighteen-year-old Jonathan Marsh of Dartmouth was also arrested that day; he faces charges of assault, causing a disturbance and breach of court orders.
