A 27-year-old man is facing charges following a stabbing in Fairview early Thursday morning.

Just before 3 a.m., police were called to a home in the 100 block of Frederick Avenue. When officers arrived, they found a 52-year-old man suffering from multiple stab wounds.

He was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries and has since been released.

Police don’t believe the incident is random and say the two men are known to each other. They also say alcohol is believed to have played a factor.

The 27-year-old will appear in court Friday charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace. — Metro Halifax
