Halifax police are investigating after a woman’s body was found Sunday afternoon at Point Pleasant Park.
The body was discovered by a passerby around 2:15 p.m. and patrol officers were called to the scene to wait for the medical examiner to arrive.
A police cruiser was parked at the turnoff from the park’s main central path to the Prince of Wales tower Sunday afternoon, while a patrol officer steered park users away from the path. A police SUV could be seen parked near the base of the tower.
Halifax Regional Police spokesman Staff Sgt. Reid McCoombs didn’t have any other information about the victim, including her age.
He said there isn’t “anything obvious” that points to her death being suspicious. — Metro Halifax
