At 5 a.m. yesterday, March 10, a taxi driver stopped to pick up a female passenger at Pizza Corner in Halifax. As he stopped, the female plus an another femal and three males jumped into his taxi and directed him to Dartmouth.

As he was driving on Victoria Road the group began to demand money from him and directed him to pull over on a side street. The taxi driver feared for his safety and kept driving. At this time the group in the car began to assault him. He stopped at the corner of Victoria Road and Albro Lake Road and exited the vehicle to attempt to find someone to help him.

At this time one of the males in the vehicle got behind the wheel and the group drove off with the vehicle, last seen heading west on Albro Lake Road. The vehicle was found abandoned a short time later on Wyse Road.

The suspects were not located. They were not able to get any cash from the victim. The victim, a 35-year-old male, only sustained minor injuries during the assault.

The only description of the suspects at this time are three black males and two black females. One of the females was wearing black and white pants.
