A man face charges after breaking into several university apartments.

On March 18, officers were called to the Rice Residence at Saint Mary’s University after several residents awoke to find a man inside their rooms. No one was hurt and a cellphone was reported stolen. Yesterday at 3 p.m., patrol officers arrested a man without incident after he attempted to activate the stolen phone at a local business. The man was later interviewed by officers assigned to the HRP/RCMP Integrated General Investigation Section.

As a result of our investigation, which was furthered by the help and cooperation of Saint Mary’s University staff, 32-year-old Kem Chimezie Chindah of Halifax is facing four charges of break and enter. He was held in custody overnight and will appear in Halifax Provincial court today.
