The farm, located in Hammonds Plains, was just one of the many she and her family planned on visiting throughout the day. Wool needed for the homeless: If you can feel the chill in the air you can probably hear Debbie Billard's knitting needles switching into high gear. The 60-year-old Sackville resident, seen here on Sept. 16, has been knitting hats and scarves (her friend Peggy does the mittens) for the homeless for eight years. "I just want them to be warm," she said of the people she helps. With the season just around the bend, Billard is on the lookout for wool. This year she needs men's colours like red, black, grey and dark green. She also said that although all donations are appreciated, full or nearly full balls of clean, preferably not chunky yarn is easier to work with. Call Debbie at 865-1164 to arrange a drop-off or pick-up time for your donation. BOBBIE-LYNN HALL 16 width:500px;height:375px The Castle Hill Neighbourhood Street Party hosted its annual street party on Saturday, Sept. 8. Families and residents have been coming together at the Castle Hill Playground (off Kearney Lake Road) on the Saturday following the Labour Day weekend since 1993! To kick off this years party the annual bike parade included a bag pipper to pipe us through the neighbourhood. 17 width:500px;height:309px
