Brittni Milligan, a student at the Atlantic Veterinary College in PEI, picked up rescue dog Louie, a puppy born with no eyes, at Playful Paws in Dartmouth, on Feb. 14. International non-profit animal protection organization Animal Rescue Corps transported nearly 50 dogs from an overburdened shelter in Palm Springs, Calif. to rescue organizations in the Maritimes, where adoptive and foster families eagerly awaited their arrival last Thursday. Milligan, who has owned a blind dog before, said she knows what to expect and was excited to take her new pet home.
