Halifax Regional Police is issuing a traffic advisory in relation to the Parade of Lights which is scheduled for tomorrow.

The parade, which starts at 6 p.m., will travel south along Barrington Street, west on Spring Garden Road, south on South Park Street and west along University Avenue. This event is expected to draw a lot of spectators along the entire parade route and roads will be closed as the parade passes through. Motorists should expect delays throughout the downtown due to increased vehicle and pedestrian traffic and road closures. 

Police encourage anyone planning to attend the parade to consider using public transportation or car pooling to reduce the amount of traffic in the downtown area. Motorist are also reminded that parking is limited and vehicles in violation will be ticketed and possibly towed
