TRENTON - Police are warning residents to lock up their cars following a rash of thefts from vehicles over the past few days here and in New Glasgow.
Trenton's Const. Bruce MacPhee says there have been a number of reported entries and thefts from cars over the past few days.
"Right from one end of Trenton to the other." In most cases, the vehicles were left unlocked.
"This is a crime of opportunity," MacPhee said.
In most cases, documentation, spare change and a wallet were stolen. MacPhee is recommending that area residents ensure their cars are locked and any valuables are removed at night.
In New Glasgow, Const. Ken MacDonald said eight thefts took place predominantly in the North End and West Side areas of town.
Anyone who has had a vehicle rummaged through is asked to contact police.

Boys
Little tip for ya. It is hard to catch a criminal in the act when the Police are not even in the vicinity of Trenton. Countless times Trenton Police are in other areas of Pictou County. I understand for gas, but everyday? This Police Force is biggest joke in Canada. Barney Fife of Mayberry would be proud.
